Work Progressing Apace at Historic 55 Delhi St, Guelph, Ontario

Built in 1909, the iconic 15,000 sq. ft. building at 55 Delhi St. in Guelph was initially built as a dormitory for nursing students at Guelph General Hospital. Vesterra is currently engaged in a $4.5 million restoration of the building, which will include the preservation of the porch, bay windows and dormers.

“While many of the building’s interior features no longer remain, due to decades of renovations and repurposing of space, we are committed to maintaining as much of the original architecture as possible.” Says Vesterra President Robert Eilers. “It’s a remarkably beautiful building and we are excited about the prospect of upgrading it to modern standards, while honouring the original design.”

Upon completion of renovations, the building will house office space for professional and medical tenants. “We already have a substantial portion of the space leased and are looking to add similar companies to the tenant base,” Eilers said.

The project is expected to be completed by December, 2016.
